Book Slam x Royal Society of Literature @ Mason & Fifth, Westbourne Park

11a Woodfield Road
London W9 2BA

Time: 7.00pm til lateish
Tickets: Free from Mason & Fifth

London’s original literary juke joint rocks up with the ROYAL SOCIETY OF LITERATURE in the bar at brilliant new venue, MASON & FIFTH, for our 20th anniversary bash and a bang up night of words and music circling memory and truth, connections, chasms, and history rethunk.

Guests include JOE DUNTHORNE, introducing his extraordinary new book Children of Radium, a deep dive into an astonishing family fable, and MONA ARSHI, human rights lawyer, Forward Prize-winning poet, author of the novel Somebody Loves You, and West London local to boot. Plus, MARINA KEMP, whose second novel The Rewilding was a Guardian Book of the Year (“powerfully compelling”) and shortlisted for the RSL’s Encore Prize, and novelist and music exec, JAMIE COLLINSON; his latest book, The Rejects, is an entertaining insight into the music industry’s near misses. Lyrics come from the Zimbabwean-born poet and sound artist BELINDA ZHAWI and music from the utterly thrilling BERWYN, fresh from the success of his debut studio album, Who Am I?

Join us for an evening exploring what is, was, and wasn’t after all under the watchful eye of our host, writer and performer RACHEL MARS. We’re getting the band back together, so Elliott, Patrick and DJ Ils will all be on hand, wondering what might have been.
