Book Slam x Wellcome Book Prize
@ Wellcome Collection
183 Euston Road
London
NW1 2BE

Doors open at 7pm for an 8pm start.

London’s leading literary shindig returns to Wellcome Collection with a brilliant line-up of words, music and comedy to celebrate ten years of the Wellcome Book Prize.

On the bill are novelist, essayist, activist and 2019’s chair of judges, ELIF SHAFAK, and psychotherapist, author of “The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read” and agony aunt, PHILIPPA PERRY.

We have a short set from Mercury Prize-nominated singer and collector of songs, SAM LEE (described as “the heart of folk” by The Times), comedy from YouTube sensation DAMIEN SLASH who has a killer one-man mixtape on Radio 4, and more words from the remarkable and unique ROB AUTON.

Hosting is our old friend and sparring partner, the supremely gifted and wickedly funny SALENA GODDEN, and our pals at ROUGH TRADE BOOKS are on DJ duty.

Good thinking, good music, good food, good company … And all for just £8. Good God you’d best have a good excuse to be anywhere else. See you there.

Books on sale courtesy of the wonderful @Wellcome bookshop.
