New year, new writing - that's what we say. And Book Slam's kicked off 2015 with some of the finest new writing around. Guests included the bestselling author of 'The Bone Season', SAMANTHA SHANNON, providing more tales of a dystopian future London in her second novel, 'The Mime Order', and winner of the 2013 Commonwealth Short Story prize, ELIZA ROBERTSON, reading from her brilliant debut collection, 'Wallflowers'. Spoken word came from the colossus that is LONGFELLA, broken balladry from the remarkable Brighton duo, GAMES, and there was art and poetry and poetry and art from SOFIA MATTIOLI. Our favourite half-pint, FELICITY WARD, told the jokes and the estimable NEWHAM BOOKS sold signed copies of the authors' books and other merchandise.
