Book Slam returns south of the river to the appropriately fading opulence of the Clapham Grand in the company of our old pal, DBC PIERRE. The Booker Prize-winner introduces us to his mind-blowing new work, ‘Petit Mal’, which puts the 'cadence' into 'decadence', the 'ouch' into 'louche' and spits the 'pip' from 'epiphany'. He will be joined by fellow flaneurs, MICHAEL SMITH - journalist, broadcaster and, in tandem with legendary DJ and producer, Andrew Weatherall, author of 'Unreal City', a paean to lost London - and the Aphrodite of the Afro, SALENA GODDEN. Comedy comes from the brilliant Australian MATT OKINE and bare knuckle soul from the remarkable, THABO & THE REAL DEAL. Hosted by FRANCESCA BEARD – poet, raconteur and living proof of the flaws in nominative determinism.
